Bridge: Road and Creek

Pleasant campground with a beautiful creek along the roadside . We have chosen a site close enough to the creek so that we can hear it. The creek sound dominates the road noise which still can be heard. There is no road noise at the far end.

The campground is situated in a beautiful ponderosa forest. Shade provides a pleasant temperature on a 80 degree day. Clean pot toilets are adequately dispersed throughout the campground. There is no drinking water. Water can be obtained from the visitor center, a few minutes drive. Creek water needs to be filtered. Posting says it’s too swift for swimming or wadding. There are anglers here.

There is good solar in the early afternoon at this site. Site 22, nearest the creek appears to offer the best solar.

Sweet Fishing Site

Small campground along Hat Creek.  Not as crowded as some of the other campgrounds in the area. But great to fish. Across the road is a picnic area and there is good fishing there as well. Other than fishing this is simply a place to relax.

Amenities are minimal. Table, locker, and fire circle. Flush toilets.  It is only open seasonally - closed in winter. Can get hot in the summer but there are trees for shade.  Some sites are right on the road so best to get there early to be away from road and closer to the creek.

But you can not fish from the bridge!
