Best Cabin Camping near Scotland, AR

Cabin accommodations in the Scotland area include Lake D'Arbonne State Park and Moro Bay State Park. Both locations offer cabins with full utilities including electricity, heating, and air conditioning. Lake D'Arbonne provides cabins with varying sleeping capacities, indoor restrooms, and kitchen facilities featuring refrigerators, stovetops, and basic cooking equipment. "Cabins are immaculate," one visitor noted after a three-day stay at Moro Bay State Park. Lake Claiborne State Park, though slightly farther, features waterfront cabin options with fishing piers directly accessible from some sites.

Rustic and deluxe cabins are both available, depending on the location. Lake D'Arbonne's cabins include lodge-style accommodations and canvas-walled cabins on wooden platforms for those seeking a more outdoor experience. Most cabins require advance reservations, especially during summer months when availability becomes limited. Pet policies vary by location—Lake D'Arbonne allows pets in designated cabins while others restrict animals entirely. According to one visitor, the park offers "beautiful, beautiful cabins" with excellent lakeside views.

Most cabins include beds but require visitors to bring their own linens, towels, and toiletries. Kitchen amenities vary significantly between parks, with some providing full cooking facilities while others offer only basic appliances. On-site camp stores at Lake D'Arbonne and Moro Bay sell essential items including firewood, ice, and basic groceries. For more extensive shopping, El Dorado is approximately 23 miles from Moro Bay State Park. Cabin restroom facilities range from shared bathhouses to private indoor bathrooms depending on the accommodation type and price point.

Lake D'Arbonne State Park — New Lake D'arbonne State Park

Beautiful state park with something for everyone

This lakeside state park has RV and tent camping, cabins, lodges and YURTS available. There are also day use pavilions available for family reunions, employee barbecues or birthday celebrations. You can also rent a meeting room in the visitors center.

There are lots of recreational opportunities which include hiking, biking, fishing, canoe and kayak rentals, tennis courts and an 18-hole disc golf course. They also have a large hiking trail system. Closed right now but available Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend they also have a really large swimming pool. A tornado hit the park in March 2021 and there’s still some trees down and a brief section of the trail I walked on today that wasn’t accessible but it is an easy detour amazing how much they have restored.

    Moro Bay State Park Campground

    Great place to camp!!

We don’t have one complaint about our stay. The camp ground is very clean and in good shape. The pads are all asphalted so pretty level. Trash bins are at every other site and the bathroom is not a far walk. The temps are really hot but the bugs aren’t too bad. My family will be back!!

Lake D'Arbonne State Park — New Lake D'arbonne State Park

    Resort like State Park

Lots of amenities. Tennis courses, disc golf course, hiking/biking trails, swimming pool, cabins, lodges, several playgrounds, picnic areas, pavilions & WiFi. Very reasonable sites for $23/night unless you’re in the lakeside premium sites which are more. Laundry room next to the bath house and playground. I will definitely be back.

Lake D'Arbonne State Park — New Lake D'arbonne State Park

    Beautiful beautiful beautiful place

This is not my first time to visit but rapidly becoming a favorite. Each trip is different and I find different ways to get more out of the park. They have great hiking trails, sites by the lake, and now I’ve discovered the biking trails too. There’s disc golf, a tennis center and multiple playgrounds. You can camp out in the campground or stay in a cabin or lodge. They also have canvas tents on wooden decks that are super cute. I stayed in the RV for my visit and have both water and electric at my site.

Lake D'Arbonne State Park — New Lake D'arbonne State Park

    Nice!

Very nice state park for its size. Ice storm has had its way here but they are cleaning up nicely. Bath houses stayed super clean all weekend. Park hosts were very nice. Walking trails were very clean around lake with TentRR glamping being added. 4 lake front premium spots. We were kicking enough to have one. Piers are super nice. Place was packed this weekend but still very nice and quiet at night.
