The ABSOLUTE WORST STAFF ON THE PLANET

While it was pretty last year (the reason it was my first pick this year) the owner uses Marissa, Jamie and Serena as his own personal shield to avoid taking responsibility for his business, and all of them are rude as all get out. Marissa promised multiple times that the owner would call me, and kept changing when exactly that would be. Two days later, I have NEVER heard from him, despite him being fully aware he needed to contact me. I ended up having the credit card company cancel the charge.

And omg, the shower house. Bring a space heater. It's an open air shed with exposed pvc and no drain. I can't imagine how it operates in the winter.

If you come in October, expect loud screaming, gun shots and chainsaws for THREE HOURS at night from one of their events your probably won't be told about til you arrive. Greg deserves to have this place fail.

Peaceful, Clean, Guest Favorite in Norfork, Arkansas

Most peaceful place to stay. You are surrounded by mountains, wildlife, birds, eagles, deer, geese and the confluence of the White & Norfork River is at the end of driveway. Norfork Lake is just a few miles away. Love the Pavilion, fire pit and corn hole!

    Bad experience

Was extremely dissatisfied with the whole experience.   Bad service with staff and dirty accommodations.  Noisey at night.  Never going back.  Also overpriced.

    Beautiful Creek

Loved being able to camp so close to the creek! The campsites weren’t anything special, but it is perfect for a weekend getaway. The lower campground does not have a bathroom, have to walk to the hill. The bathrooms were clean, but the shower house is basically like taking an outdoor shower. They do sell wood, ice and have a small selection of items inside the office. The location is great and the river is gorgeous making this a place would would definitely return to.

    Sylamore Creek Camp

    Disappointed

We have stayed here 2 times, once in a RV a couple years ago and had a nice experience. The second just this week. Since we stayed here last the prices have increased per night and it has come under new ownership. We stayed in the “wren” cabin. Which is over looking campsites below and sylamore creek. Not horrible, but honestly if I’m paying for water views I want to see the water not campers. Overall fairly clean, other than the debris pictured in the shower. No problem, sometimes mistakes happen. Could have even fell from the ceiling when the door closed or something after it was cleaned. My biggest issue, we were here for 3 nights. Typically I like to shower a couple times a day as does my wife when it is hot out. We had a total of 2 bath towels and 2 wash cloths upon arrival. Rather than new ones being brought daily, you are required to take the used ones to the camp store and exchange them yourself. I’m on vacation, I don’t personally feel it should be my responsibility to secure my own towels on MY time. I mean, I’m here for 3 days, give me 6 towels and wash cloths and count them when I leave if your that worried about towel theft. I’ve travelled half way around the world and never had this issue before. But if I’m paying $140 a night for a room worth about $90 (at best) I’d at least like enough towels to get me through my stay or maybe send someone by with new ones. One more thing, note the front door pic needs painted at a minimum, I mean, it’s not just one thing, it’s attention to detail and upkeep. The bathroom door also rubbed the floor and the floor was uneven overall. I get around pretty good, but I can see this being a trip hazard for someone elderly. Point being, I did not get a good value for the stay I purchased. I did confront the towel issue and the response was “we’ve always done it that way”. Doesn’t sound like it will change soon, which means I won’t be back and wouldn’t encourage anyone else to stay here either. On a positive, it’s not a bad location. I will also mention the bed, it wasn’t bad, but could have lived without the sandpaper sheets.

    Can't beat it!

It's such a beautiful place, right on the White River and the Buffalo River, just yards away. The best of both rivers. The resort is well maintained and the staff is friendly. There's a pool in the summer and a ping pong table. The bathrooms do not have air conditioning, but are clean.

    Sylamore Creek Camp

worst campground we have been to

We had a terrible experience camping here over the weekend. We were expecting a nice quiet family outing with friends but that is not what we got. I have never been to a rv park where there is a haunted hayride and haunted house on site only feet away from campers but we also had to listen to screaming, banging, chainsaws and tractors running until 10pm each night. So the kids decided to check out the hayride and haunted house with the moms and did so but were to chicken to go through the house. So i challenged the older kids to go through the house with me. So we made our way over to the house and were met with an upset clown that said we had to go to the office to get our vouchers because the kids had been through the house too many times already. So we go and get the vouchers and go on the hayride without any problems when we pull back up to the house the clown then confronts me and tells me i need to tell the kids to stop throwing rocks during the hayride. I said who and then asked the kids if they did and they said no and he continues to accuse them of throwing rocks. I then confront this clown about accusing my kids of doing something and he then starts dropping f bombs left and right and starts threating to call the cops which i said please do but i guess decided not to. So after a few back and forth words i decide to leave the situation and take the kids back to the camper and he proceeds to follow me and continue to use the f word repeatedly. I can say i will never be back to this clown of a campground and would not want my worst enemy staying here. Their sign says no cussing or you will be escorted off the premises but i guess that only applies to the guests not the employees. The sign also says beware of clowns. So do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or money on this clown of a place.

Nice view but lacking shade in site 11.

Site was a little hard to get into and a little tight with the pavillion there providing the only shade. T-mobile cell serve was very good.

    Jewells RV Park

    Not ideal

We stopped in for an overnight and weren't impressed when we got there. The trees are overgrown and the spots are very poorly laid out. We have a 37 foot 5er and had to do some difficult maneuvering to get turned around when we left. The owner took cash only, didn't register us in any way, and frankly overcharged for what we got.

    Great Place with Homey Feel

$10 per night, firewood, ice, and more amenities on site.  The owner is so nice.  His dog Lil' Dan also slept with me.  There is a horse next to the camp sites and it's just so beautiful.  Float launches from the campground, so convenient.  Close to Grand Gulf, Greer Spring, Mammoth Spring, and right on beautiful highway 19.  I will be back soon!

    Folk Music Lovers Dream

We chose this campground because of its proximity to the Ozark Folk Center. We are here for the Bluegrass and Fried Chicken festival this weekend at the center. It is within walking distance with a secret walkthrough from the campground to the Folk Center grounds. It’s not the closest campground to the square where musicians gather on Saturdays for some impromptu jam sessions, but it’s not far at all. Overall our site is well-maintained and we have full hookup. We use T-Mobile for cell phone service and I have not one single bar of service sitting here, but we have STARLINK satellite internet and in our site, next the the front entrance of the campground, we have a great signal. The owners are new and are fantastic to work with. Overall we have enjoyed our visit thus far and will likely visit again.

It was OK. My rating might be a little harsh.

Most of the sites here look like annual spots. That’s fine, but the couple of spots they have for weekly or overnights are not well kept. They could have at least mowed our spot before we showed up. The office closed early the day we rolled in so we basically had to deal with an unmowed and extremely unlevel spot.

The next day, I had to use 6x6 blocks of wood from the caretaker’s wood pile as a foundation to jack the front end of my class C motorhome up. The front wheels were 6 inches off the ground with the jacks fully extended and we barely made level! I was fuming. It’s unsafe and I don’t want the leveling system to get messed up.

That said, the lake here is beautiful. The dock is nice as well. If you have older kids or want to swim in the middle of nowhere, I can see this as the highlight. They have a huge section of floating dock that you can lounge/fish on. And, it’s easy to get in and out of the water. The water is deep and fairly clear here.

This place was a learning experience for us being on the road for a couple of months with two young kids. This was the first place we stayed where there wasn’t a comfort station. We quickly found the laundry won’t get your clothes dry. The deal breaker for us was the kids having nothing to do. Maybe it would be different if I weren’t working full time from the rig.

I will say, though, the campground WiFi is OK. My Verizon signal was excellent and I was able to do video calls and Remote Desktop into other computers with no issues.

Nice spot to camp and the people are Great!!

We stayed here to utilize their shuttle services for kayaking the 11 point. It was the week before the Memorial Day holiday and we had the place to ourselves! There are bathrooms available and hot showers, awesome people to chat with and a cool dog named Dan. We stayed in the primitive camping section but were informed there are also cabins available. Our site was just what we needed with a Rim fire pit and a couple of picnic tables. Richards definitely catered to us as we decided at the last minute to take another float and they jumped right in and made it happen for us. The convince of having your own vehicle waiting for you after a long day of floating is worth every dime you pay for it! I would highly recommend Richards for their shuttle services and camping area.

    Early season, limited services

Tent camped here with a group of private boat paddlers from all over the country. Campground operations had not really started for the season. I arrived after dark and could not find the tent campsites. Nearly drove into deep mud on gravel road past RV sites. Fortunately had just enough cell signal to access their website. Found a campground map three layers deep on reservation page and located my group.

Tent sites were well-located along the river with basic tables and fire rings. I never found the store to be open so paid camping fee at bar and cafe at entrance. Great breakfast. $25/night for tents.  Grass had not been mowed and was deep in tent area. RV sites appear to be a work in progress with much erosion around the new pads and access road. What may have been a shower house had key code locks but there was never anyone to ask. Bathrooms near the entrance lacked tp in some stalls. All one afternoon and evening a group of kids with gas weed trimmers  noisely worked on a slope adjacent to the RV area.

This campground should improve over time a the management appears to be developing the grounds.

Best RV Resort I've ever stayed at

This campground was designed perfectly with family and couples in mind. The sites aren't very big but they are set up in such a way that even if someone parks next to you, it will not ruin your view. The amenities they have are beyond belief and the staff cannot be more kind. I'm so glad we tried this resort. Look forward to many many many more visits

    Family-owned, beautiful and quiet

We have stated this camp many times over the past several years. We have stayed both directly on the creek and on the upper full hookup sites. We could not be happier with this campground. It is safe family friendly and quiet. The owners do not put up with loud music or loud parties. It is a great place for a family

    Great Camping

Well, this was our longest stay at a campground. The staff as well as all of the campers that we met were nice, pleasant, and helpful. We were there for a little more than a week, and always found something to do. Location is in a beautiful setting. The campground was a little crowded, but overall it was a great experience.

    Great floating, campsites need work

PROS- First the floating was excellent on the northfolk River. Great wildlife along the way including cranes, turtles, ducks, fish. Fantastic on site restaurant with bar and grill that has Saturday karaoke and Friday live bands. The best showers with privacy and cleanliness. Has extras on site like cornhole, basketball, Foosball, and a pool table. The campsites were large. The tent sites were shady and grassy with even ground and near the river. CONS- The RV sites have zero shade and very little grass so it's mostly clay mud on the ground, which would have been fine but since it rained it made a giant mud soup mess. The cost is higher than the recreation government sites online for camping.
