Within the Army Corps of Engineers' Ozark Recreation Area, River Ridge operates as a boat-in and drive-in campground along the Arkansas River from early April through late September. The $10 fee covers sites with picnic tables, drinking water, toilets, and campfire rings, plus ADA accessibility and cell service. One reviewer noted the isolated location provides river views but warned about scattered trash and questionable restroom conditions.

Campers can expect abundant wildlife, including spiders that may build webs on vehicles overnight. The site allows pets and alcohol, making it accessible for various camping styles. Isolated, peaceful and trashy.

Pros: Free, Isolated, quite and great views.

Cons: trash sporadically thrown about and lack of facilities (there’s toilets if you’re brave enough.)

Lastly it’s neither a pro or con but there are LOTS of critters. I was car camping and woke up to several large spider webs attached to my car and a few smaller spiders even made into the Car itself but they were kind enough not to crawl on me.
