 Horseshoe Bend Campground sits along the vast shores of Beaver Lake in the Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas, offering spacious and sunny campsites and an abundance of recreational activities. 
## Recreation

 Fishing opportunities are plentiful near Horseshoe Bend Campground. Beaver Lake has more than 28,000 surface acres of water, and anglers can try their luck at catching large and small-mouth bass, crappie, bream, white bass, stripers, and channel or spoon-bill catfish. Just below the dam, the cold waters of the upper White River provide a perfect habitat for pole-bending rainbow and record-size German brown trout. Several trails snake throughout the Ozark Mountains, offering peaceful hiking, biking and wildlife viewing opportunities for visitors. Hunters will find game plentiful in northwest Arkansas. A mixture of hardwood and evergreen forest provides a good home to many different species of wildlife. While Beaver Lake is conveniently located near several population centers, within a short driving distance hunters can find remote areas filled with upland game animals such as deer, rabbits and squirrels. The Best Camping Near Rogers, Arkansas

Horseshoe Bend is another campground around Beaver Lake. Just like the others it is very pretty with a lot of camping options. They have probably the most lakeside options for camping, but currently most of the sites next to the lake are damaged from washed up trees and high water. Hopefully this is something that will be cleaned up and fixed in the off season.

The green space is well maintained and mowed with a lot of tall trees. This would be a four star campground if the majority of the lakeside campsites were operable.

We have a great visit! The only reason I gave it 4 stars was the limited bathrooms. I didn't mind but when the girlfriend had to use the restroom it was a hike. The campground had fantastic trails and butted up right to the water. We will be back 100%!

Horseshoe Bend Camping

We stayed on a rustic plot with electricity. There was a trail going to Beaver Lake from our campsite which made for a grear personal fishing spot. The restrooms and showers were conveniently situated but could have been cleaner. (Lots of spiders and bugs!) The swimming beach was a short walk from our campsite and was more than perfect. The bluffs around the lake make it a scenic experience as well. Go! Enjoy!

Great family Corp campground. Some sites have electric and water some just electric. Great for walking, riding bikes. And walking the dog. Last Saturday weekend in October people decorate there sites and kids trick or treat the campers .

Got a nice little spot on the lake to do some hammock camping for two nights. Was able to get this spot within the week which was a surprise as busy as it was. Campground is close to Rogers, Arkansas if you need any supplies. I used it as a gateway to head in to the Ozark National Forest which is about 1.5 hours away.

Nice campground...very busy

Horseshoe is a great campground if you want to be close to the water. It sits on a peninsula so pretty much no matter what site you have you will see the water. It's like many other Corp of Engineer parks: vault toilets, minimal shower houses.  

The nice:

*   Great hosts;
*   Most sites have a flat gravel squared off area for a tent. In our case we put our canopy there for our cooking station.
*   You are right beside or at least see the water from most sites;

The not so good:

*   crowded;
*   some sites are cramped on space;

We were in site 126 and liked it. I do quite a bit of homework before I pick a site.  My biggest advice would be to pay attention to the map.  The two larger site areas tend to be very crowded. 

There was a short but nice trail.  There was a swimming beach that had sand versus the normal rocks!  Also, deer were very used to campers.  They didn't come into campsites but had no issue grazing on the edge of the woods near the roads.

Overall good enough that I want to go back.

Good campground for being close to the water

I am currently staying at the Horseshoe Bend campground in Rogers, AR on site 158. I reported to the gate keepers yesterday that the 20amp GFCI circuit was tripped and wouldn’t reset. The gentleman who was at the gate told me he would go down and take a look at it. I was concerned because as I was explaining it to him he asked me if I meant the“little one”. I told him yes. I was headed back to work and told him I would be back out that evening. When I returned at 9:00pm, I noticed that my camper was dark and that my exterior light was off. I checked and sure enough he had turned off the 30amp breaker to my camper. I turned it back on and went inside. Sure enough it had been off all day and my fridge in turn was off. My freezer was defrosting and the bag of ice I had in it had leaked all over the floor and carpet. I went back to ask him why he had turned off the breaker and he told me that he hadn’t. That it must have tripped. I informed him that there is a difference in a tripped breaker and a turned off breaker because you have to reset a tripped breaker. I am in the construction trade and used to be an electrician by trade before I became a general contractor. I could see the look on his face that he knew he had forgotten to turn it back on. He then proceeded to tell me that I would need to plug into the other pole because that one wasn’t working. My cord wouldn’t come close to reaching. I then asked him if he turned it off because it wasn’t working and he said yes. So I asked him that if that was the case then why did he lie earlier when he said he didn’t and that it must have tripped. Needless to say I was pretty aggravated last night. I had to run back to town to get my shop vac so I could suck up the water and a fan to help dry out the carpet. Then I asked him if he had shut it down then why didn’t he call me since they have my phone number in the system when I checked in. He just said he was sorry and closed the door. I am a bit frustrated at all that. He has no business working on an electrical service if he isn’t licensed and is obviously incompetent if he wouldn’t even bother to call me after turning off my campers service knowing that people have fridges full of food in them.

Very clean with great lake views. Every time we stay here we meet new and exciting people. One of our favorite places. 

Beautiful

Found this gem tucked away in Northwest Arkansas. Corps of Engineers Campground. Very well-maintained. Gorgeous lake with lots of lakefront sites. Several bathhouses. Some with vault toilets but some with flush toilets and showers. Sites have electric but not water so fill your tank before you come. 

Swimming area was very spacious. Nice playground for kids. (Closed currently due to COVID.) Dump station has easy access. 

Sites are in several smaller groups so it would be great for camping with friends and family. Paved, smooth roads in and out. Quiet and good spacing between sites. Deer roaming around throughout. Fantastic price for lakeside camping. 

Lakeside find!

The lake views and ample tree coverage on most sites make me want to give this place 4-5 stars; we had a great time and will be back. 

Had we not been with others though and only at our campsite, I’d probably rate it 2 stars. Many of the sites are crowded next to each other and the pads can be very unlevel; I had my small trailer up 5 leveling blocks on one side to make it level. Using our freshwater tank wasn’t a big deal, but the reservation website didn’t make that clear, so we were expecting water hookups. Also, the map wasn’t to scale, so our space had nearly no yard while the other one next to us had twice the normal size. 

The location on the lake is great, the pines are gorgeous, but you need to do some research. 

Good if you’ve done some homework 

Site is the largest on Beaver Lake, plenty of room for large vehicles or trailers .. 2 launch ramps for boats.  Close to a Rogers and close to great food. Be sure to check the power capabilities and most sites may not have sewer . Overall beautiful facility.

Very nice and very open

This site is the largest most spacious COE Site on Beaver Lake.  Very large camp sites with easy access to the water.. 2 launch ramps for boats, marina on site.  Good access to town and great food at Monte Ne Inn .. newly remodeled sites along the waters edge as well.

The lake itself is worth it, and the pine grove with the trail was pleasant, but the sites were cramped and unlevel and the map was difficult to read and not to scale. We’ll be back, but we know what to expect  

A nice getaway

Arkansas is  state of hidden gems. This is certainly one of them.

Just pulled up. Site 004. Site literally backs up to someone’s back yard. View is if old shed, roof tin, camper shells—all the things you’d store behind your house. It’s also a double spot. NO PRIVACY. Odd parking angles. Fire ring on one spot—literally on the other side of the concrete Parker marker from your RV.  One side has O room for awning and limited space to swing a camper door. Lots of music and TV’s playing on this loop. 😞

Close to a house & is double occupancy

 My reservation was partially cancelled. I called and asked for information.  The campground Karen rudely refused to reveal the reason or predict future administration decisions.  
Also hard to use their. Internet based reservation system when you are traveling in mostly poor coverage areas.

This was our first trip out in our new camper, and I wanted to go somewhere close to our home in case we forgot something to run back and get it and this campsite was perfect.

  

We've camped here before, a few years ago, and was excited to go back!  

  

The area is about 20 minutes to the nearest Walmart and is a great way to get a way, without having to worry about not having some luxuries just a few minutes away.

  
They were experiencing high water during our stay, so there were a few sites unavailable, but most of them were up and good to stay at.  They have upgraded a lot of the electrical hookups throughout the campsite, but they do not have water access at the sites.  BUT, most of the sites are within ~50 yards from a clean water source.  

  

The sites pull-ins were old asphalt, and some of them were falling apart pretty bad, but nothing that made a difference.  BUT, be sure you know what the site looks like before you reserve it just in case you are pulling a larger RV and need a specific angle or asphalt length to accommodate your camper.

  

Over all we loved the site, it was quieter,  not a lot of vehicle traffic, and we saw the sheriff drive by 3 times in our 2 day stay, so they do a good job of keeping it safe!  We had no issues getting in to our site, but it would have been nice to have water hookups.  Not a deal breaker though! 

  

Overall, Great Site! Will definitely be back this Fall!

First Camping Trip in Our New Taxa Tigermoth

We chose this campground due to its close proximity to our house, about an hour's drive. The campground itself is dated but clean, with no water hookups at the sites; community water pumps were scattered throughout the campground. The restrooms were also dated and needed to be cleaned a little better. We were in a double site on the water, which was a plus for us! No campers right on top of us! Lots of boat traffic as this campground sits between a couple of marinas. We did have a church group set up camp in a loop close by us, where they held singing, music and preaching through loudspeakers. About 30-40 extra visitors showed up each of the 3 nights we were there. It became very annoying when they turned the sound up. We talked to the campground hosts, who were helpful, but the group disregarded the noise rule anyway. Other than that and a couple of friendly dogs whose owners let run loose, the trip was very nice! Great view, cool winds off the water, swimming and fishing, and nice area to walk! Big variety of trees and flowers, insects, animal and bird wildlife, including a bald eagle sighting! Reservations required through Recreation.gov.

River Lake Camping at Horseshoe Bend

We stayed for 2 days and 2 nights: the overall area was calm and peaceful. However there were no restrooms open for the winter. It was definitely cold so don’t go in winters, but good for summer boating. Boat rentals available at nearby gas stations.


Nice spot for summers

This camping area is great if you already have a nice rig but if you have a small rig and prefer to take showers in a *nice* bath house, this is not the campground for you. None of the sites have water hookups and the showers were awful. The stalls were filthy and too small so everything you bring with you gets soaked. 
Some of the camping pads are pretty steep so longer rigs will have trouble leveling if you’re camping close to the water. 
Pros: beautiful spot, lots of waterfront spots
Cons: not level, gross showers, no water hookups, fire pits located behind the camping pad so not useful. 

Great if you already have everything you need...

Very nice &amp; well kept campground.  The restroom/shower house was clean.  Cute little playground for kids &amp; lots of shoreline to explore. 

Shade & Relaxation

Stay during off-season. The park was very clean and quiet. Park rangers routinely patrolled and it felt very safe. 

Loved this park

We are in site #36, right on the water. Big pine trees &amp; lots of shade. Flat &amp; roomy. Concrete table &amp; crushed rock pad, with nice flat pad for the camper. 30/50 amp, but no water hookups on this loop. There is, however, a drinking water spigot for campers to use to fill their holding tanks...so come prepared to bring drinking water &amp;/or fill your holding tank for flushing, etc. Fantastic view &amp; nice breeze off the water. I'm sure in summer, it'll be really nice to have the water just a few feet away to take a dip. All and all, a really great park. I'm sure as the season picks up into full swing, the sites will be even more maintained &amp; will be in tip top shape. We'll be back.

Fall Camping

My wife and I stayed here for three and a half weeks. We moved sites several times due to the demand of incoming campers. Each site was extremely well kept and the wildlife around is flourishing. Each site offers a different view that will take your breath away with each sun rise and sun set. There is only one bath house with showers and a normal toilet but the water pressure is fantastic and the bath houses are clean and taken care of. The staff and rangers are extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.
