Sacaton Rest Area - Westbound

This free rest area provides overnight parking for RVs and cars along Interstate 10, positioned far enough from the highway to reduce road noise. The facility features drinking water spigots, restrooms, picnic tables, and multiple trash receptacles spread across a large, well-lit area. Pea gravel covers much of the ground, making it easier for pet owners to walk dogs without encountering native sand burrs.

The rest area accommodates big rigs with designated spaces and maintains steady traffic flow throughout the day and night. Campers report average noise levels for a roadside facility, with decent lighting in main areas but darker sections in the outer parking zones. Large Size

I liked how large and spread out this rest area was. There were plenty of car spaces and a decent amount of rv/big rig spots. There was a lot of space to walk my dog and they had pea gravel spread out so we had no problem with the native sand burrs (not sure if that's what they're actually called) getting in her feet.

They have a lot of trash receptacles and also water spigots available.

The lighting was decent. All the main areas were lit but still rather dark in the majority if the place. It was very busy with people coming and going. The noise level was average for a rest area. It's a bit off the highway so not terribly loud but definitely not quiet.

The only major down side for me was the bathrooms. They were pretty dirty.

Overall, I really liked this one. It's one of the better ones I've been to.
