Fun place to stay

Right by the roadside but en route to Grand Canyon, staff are super helpful and emailed bathroom code quickly despite my late arrival.
The Fred Flintstone park behind is a fun extra that they don’t charge campers for. And the goats are super cute

Raptor Ranch - worth the stop!

I was traveling to The Grand Canyon to meet up with some friends from High School (We're 72 now) and they were staying at El Tovar so I drove my 2005 Born Free towing my JEEP from Tucson.  I originally booked at a KOA in Williams, but found out it was an hour to the park, so I looked for something else.  Found Raptor Ranch - only 1/2 hour to El Tovar so I booked it.  The place is pretty cool.  Just off of 64.  There is an attraction here called Bedrock City.  It's an homage to The Flintstones.  Kids today have no idea about how the Flintstones were part of our childhood.  It's great that they are preserving this memory.  The Ranch also does demonstrations of Birds of Prey three times a day.  Another educational opportunity.  The sites are pretty close together, but I wasn't bothered by my neighbors.  The sites are pull throughs and some back in.  Only about 40 sites.  There is a general store and a restaurant on the premises.  I'd recommend this campground if you're going to spend time at The Grand Canyon and have a tow vehicle.

Terrible campground

Next to highway, bad wifi only in laundry room, showers are to be paid 5 dollars per 5 minutes, very basic bathrooms suddenly closed with code while no code received and no people to be found. DO NOT STAY HERE

Not suited for tents

We stayed here for 2 nights. Kind people, clean bathrooms, free wifi. Unfortunately we couldn’t fix our tents due to the gravel (which would’ve been helpful in the storm). Also the campground is next to a loud road, one shower cost $3 and laundry $5.

Standard RV camp w/ laundry room

Very convenient reservation and check-in! If you want to take a hot shower, bring quarters - it’s 3$/7 Minutes. Restroom and showers were clean, but very old.

It is very dusty on the campground!

Located close to south rim

I was able to make last minute reservations. Staff is great. Property is clean and well maintained. Showered $3 for 7 minutes and i felt very exposed- no locks on main door or shower area. Washer and dryer $5 each per load ($10 total for 1 load), restaurant with bar style food- had the pizza and it was delicious. Little shop with snacks, drinks and souvenirs. Not sure if there’s a quiet time, I’m tent camping and the rv 2 spots down was up and hanging out with children playing until at least 11pm. Only real complaint is it’s right off the main highway that goes in and out of the park so there was a lot of street noise and the closest restroom someone has a large tent pitched that butts up almost against the womens door so a little weird going in and out. Paid $19 a night plus tax for non electric site. I think fairly priced and would return again with more cash for the shower / laundry.

Raptor RV

Right off of Hwy 64. Very accommodating friendly host at Flintstone Bedrock City/ Raptor Ranch. Birds of prey demos twice a day. Had a pull through site, 50 Amp service with water. Dump station near the entrance.

A unique place...

There was no water at the RV sites. A shower cost $3 in quarters w no change machine, a cold and dirty bath house with disgusting toilets. There is no cable. There is one dump station - no site dump for grey water. No picnic table and the very close neighbor is using our fire pit because the don’t have one of their own. The people who work here were nice and it’s about 30min from the Grand Canyon South Rim National Park. I wouldn’t stay here though unless necessary.

Did the job for a cold winter night

I had planned on staying here for two nights for a visit to the Grand Canyon, but winter got the best of me and my plans so I only ended up here a single night. You can make reservations online in advance. I ended up with site #2. Sites are pretty close together, and you don’t have much distance between you and the main highway. They do have a propane fill up which is very handy. This site is probably the closest you can get to the Grand Canyon without actually being on park premises. About 45 minutes from the south rim entrance. If I had to pick and do it all again, I’d probably stay somewhere in the park. But this stop served it’s purposes for me just fine.

Nothing Special

Stayed here for 2 nights the beginning of Dec 2020. The park has a new owner who is doing work to clean it up, the store is nice. The town of Bedrock (Flinstones cartoon) needs a little work but it’s cute. The bathroom near the campground was closed, I think there was a laundry room. The restaurant across the street was closed due to Covid. A few years ago we visited the Museum at the small airport, really enjoyed it.

Bring your wallet

Small rv sites with little distancing, $5.00 a load to wash and another $5.00 a load to dry. $75 a night for full hookups (30ft max) and abysmal wifi. The whole site is pretty much nothing but dirt. What you're paying for here is the short distance to the canyon and not much else. Kinda reminds me of "The Thing", costly and not that'll great.

Great spot

I was able to easily book a night here after feeling scammed from a place supposedly across the highway. The hosts/owners were very accommodating and informative. I will always book here for any of my future Grand Canyon adventures!

Close to Grand Canyon

This place is as close as you can get to the Grand Canyon without actually being inside! Newly remodeled- all the hookups were new. The RV sites were fairly close to one another but there weren’t a lot of people when we stayed so it wasn’t an issue. The flintstone park opens at 9am and my kids had a blast playing in the park. The people who run the grounds are so sweet. When my son hurt himself going down a slide, one of the ladies helped take care of his wound and bandaged him up. She even gave him a surprise to help him feel better. When we thought a falcon show was going to happen but they weren’t on that night (it was clearly stated on their signs, but we overlooked it) the guy willingly let us watch him practice with one of his falcons. Overall, clean and new. Good place to base camp if you want to visit Grand Canyon.
