Beautiful!

We love this place. We camp with friends and get buddy sights. It's clean and well maintained. They have a pool and Jacuzzi and store. Sights are easy to access. A little bit of freeway noise but not bad.

Nice and relaxing

Spot was a little tight between the trees, but overall relaxing, quiet and calm. No loud campers and peaceful. They have a returning customer here.

Large rig, stay in NEW campground area

I stayed in August for 2 nights and then in September, passed back through and stayed for 6 nights.

I had an ebike the second stay and I explored some of the roads and wilderness campgrounds in the surrounding area.   The pool and hot tub are a few minute walk from the new campground area.  The old campground has lots of trees but parking is TIGHT.

There is a crowded exercise room available, crowded because it has almost everything imaginable for a workout.

The new campground makes STARLINK easy as there are no trees to obstruct.  The spaces in the new campground are large and the two I used were level gravel lots with new hookups.

Convenient and clean

Stayed overnight June 2020. Right off 17 this large park is convenient for an overnight and easy access to Sedona area. Accommodates a large variety of RV’s, temporary and permanent. There’s a county store for basics, laundry, dumping, propane refill and (a pool but closed due to Covid). Not a back to nature place but fine for what we needed. Lots of ORV’s parked by units so there must be good access if you’re looking for that.

Dusty with a side of poor management

If you don’t have a UTV, this is probably not the place for you to go. Dusty and loud.

We reserved a spot at this campground in advance of the weekend. We showed up at 6pm, an hour after the office closed. There was an “after hours checkin” location. I looked for a reservation with our name on it telling us which spot we should be going to. None of the slips had any names on them just a sticky note saying “one night only pay in the AM” since we had received 2 confirmation emails, I based our reservation off of the second confirmation stating we got full hookups - assuming they upgraded us from the electric/water because someone had cancelled. In the AM I went to go pay/check in since we were there from Thursday-Sunday. They acted like I was an idiot for not going to our assigned spot, even though we did not know where that was and demanded we moved. I asked them why I got a second email stating they were charging us for the full hook ups and they stated someone messed up and there’s nothing they could do about just go move to the correct location. I went and verified and at least they charged my credit card for the correct amount. Later that second day they called me and requested I come back to the office because they forgot to fully check us in and I needed to pay them. I ended up standing at their check in window for a long period of time before they came to assist me.

If you have to dump after your trip- or even during your trip— be warned it’s an additional $10 each time you want to dump.

The location is close to I-17 which has its pluses and minuses. Easy to find and get around, but truck noise throughout the night when you attempt to sleep.

The dog park is nice sized and has poop bags and garbages. The whole RV park has poop bags and garbages around it- which is awesome!

They do have propane fill on site, and typically a general store. The store was not open due to COVID-19.

The people staying at the campground were all friendly, which made the stay a little more enjoyable. Although there is not a lot of privacy within the different sites.

Frequently Asked Questions

What amenities and facilities are available at Munds Park RV Resort?

Munds Park RV Resort offers a well-maintained facility with numerous amenities. The resort features a swimming pool and hot tub, both kept in pristine condition. Campers have access to a country store for basic supplies, laundry facilities, propane refill station, and dump services. The grounds are clean with both shaded and open sites. Some spots have beautiful trees providing natural shade, while the newer section offers bigger lots without tree coverage. Additional facilities include a Jacuzzi and buddy sites for camping with friends. The resort accommodates various RV sizes and has both temporary and permanent residents.

What is the elevation of Munds Park and how does it affect camping?

Munds Park sits at approximately 6,500 feet elevation, creating a cooler mountain climate compared to lower-elevation areas in Arizona. This higher elevation means summer temperatures are typically moderate and pleasant, making it an excellent escape from the desert heat. Campers should be prepared for cooler nights even during summer months. In spring and fall, temperatures can drop significantly at night. The elevation also affects vegetation, providing beautiful pine forests around the area. The higher altitude may cause some visitors to experience mild altitude symptoms initially, so staying hydrated is important when first arriving.

How far is Munds Park RV Resort from Flagstaff and Sedona?

Munds Park RV Resort is conveniently located just off Interstate 17, making it easily accessible for travelers. The resort is approximately 20 miles south of Flagstaff, typically a 20-25 minute drive depending on traffic conditions. Sedona is about 30 miles southwest, usually a 35-40 minute drive along scenic routes. This strategic location makes the resort an excellent base camp for exploring both destinations. The easy highway access allows for day trips to either city while returning to the more temperate climate of Munds Park in the evening.

How much does it cost to stay at Munds Park RV Resort?

Specific pricing for Munds Park RV Resort varies by season and site type. The resort has a strict reservation policy that includes a minimum $50 penalty for any changes made to reservations after initial booking. Changes must be made no later than 72 hours before arrival, with additional cost penalties applying. For current and exact pricing information, it's recommended to contact the resort directly. The resort offers different site options including both shaded spots among trees and newer, more spacious lots without shade.
