Description
Kaibab National Forest opens up into broad, flat terrain here along a two-track dirt road southwest of I-40, with wide valley views and vivid sunsets over the surrounding high-country plateau. Multiple open clearings provide plenty of room to spread out, and at least one established fire ring with occasional scavenged firewood marks the area. The road in is generally manageable for 2WD rigs in dry conditions, though a low wash crossing and narrow stretches make it best suited to smaller vehicles — a bit of caution goes a long way when the surface is wet. Some freeway noise carries from I-40, but fades into the background after dark.
