Dispersed camping on Arizona State Trust Land requires an annual permit costing fifteen to twenty dollars per vehicle, purchasable online through the state system. Campers exit the highway north and choose between a paved road heading north or a gravel road running east-west toward the canyon. The gravel route west provides several easy pull-off spots for overnight stays within a half-mile of the main road.

Access roads remain in good condition, though the paved route leads to Hopi-owned land after approximately half a mile. Two Guns Ghost Town sits on private property across the highway. Campfires are permitted throughout this state trust parcel, and the area receives light camping traffic based on current usage patterns.
