Description
The Coconino National Forest plateau above Sterling Canyon opens into a ponderosa flat just off Forest Service Road 6012 at roughly 7,000 feet elevation — well-positioned for exploring the canyon rim country near Oak Creek Vista. The area is spacious enough for multiple vehicles and tents, with an established fire ring on site. A four-wheel-drive vehicle is advised on the approach, and cell service is marginal but functional.
