Description

At around 6,500 feet in Coconino National Forest, this dispersed area sits amid ponderosa forest along a forest road corridor above Fry Canyon, with open views and big sunsets to the west. Numerous flat pullouts line the road in both directions, accommodating everything from tents to long RVs — the rocky switchback approach is the main obstacle, and the surface is best avoided after rain. Sites can fill up on weekends and in spring, but there's typically room to spread out and find a quiet corner.
