Coconino NF Dispersed — FR 700 / Kelly Canyon

Description

The ponderosa pine corridor off FR 700 in Coconino National Forest opens into this broad dispersed area, situated about a mile from Highway 17 at roughly 6,800 feet elevation, with multiple established camping flats spread across the terrain. The road is a wide, packed-dirt forest route — shared with active logging traffic in the mornings — with one rocky stretch near the end; the clearing itself is large enough to spread out a small convoy of rigs or find a private corner well away from other campers. Several pre-existing fire rings anchor the older camp areas, and good hiking is accessible from the surrounding forest.
