About a dozen free tent sites spread across forested terrain in Tonto National Forest, C C C sits along Seven Springs Road north of Carefree. The US Forest Service campground provides tables, fire rings, grills, and vault toilets, though bathroom conditions vary according to campers. RVs under 20 feet can access most sites, but larger rigs should stay closer to the main road rather than venturing further up the increasingly rough terrain.
Wild horses occasionally wander through the area, and a seasonal creek runs nearby that may dry up during certain periods. The washboard access road handles most vehicles, including compact cars, though zero cell service means staying disconnected. Sites can become overgrown with vegetation after heavy rains. For campers wanting more developed amenities, Civilian Conservation Corps Campground provides an alternative just down the road.
