Sitting at a trail junction on the Skyway Loop in Talladega National Forest, this free, hike-in backcountry site is where the route splits toward Lake Chinnabee or continues south on the loop. The site sits on the water and has large, level ground for tents. It is accessible from either Skyway Loop trailhead or via a short walk from the Talladega National Forest Lake Chinnabee Recreation Area parking area, which makes it workable for groups carrying heavier loads. Drinking water is available. Backpackers completing the full loop in three to four days will find this a practical overnight stop; those doing a two-day loop may use it as a midday rest point instead.
