Coleto Creek Reservoir and Park Guadalupe-Blanco River Auth

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Managed by the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority, Coleto Creek Park surrounds a reservoir in south-central Texas and gives campers access to full-hookup sites with electric, water, and sewer connections suitable for rigs up to 50 feet. The FHU loop sits in an open layout with little shade and gravel roads throughout, though a recent reviewer notes that roads have since been paved and sewer hookups added. Deer move through the campground regularly. The park gates close at midnight and reopen at 6am, so late arrivals need to plan accordingly.

Amenities have expanded in recent years. The facility now includes two sets of washers and dryers in the shower and restroom building, along with a disk golf course. Park WiFi is strong enough to stream video. One practical note: campers in sites 64 through 83 will walk roughly a half-mile round trip to reach the nearest restroom facility, so that distance is worth factoring into site selection.

Fire ant hills are present throughout the grounds, and the campfire rings are on the smaller side. Firewood is available nearby, as one camper points out: "the store right by the park gates sells hard wood firewood for a decent price." Sites have moveable picnic tables and pedestal grills. Reservations are available and pets are allowed. The Victoria Coleto Creek Lake KOA and Coleto Lake RV sit just down the road for campers comparing options in the area. Booking ahead on weekends is advisable, as the open layout of the FHU loop means the campground can feel crowded when sites fill up.
