The Best Camping Near Centennial, Wyoming

Great place to boondock for a few days. We stayed here for a week in our 20 foot skoolie. Short drive into the Medicine Bow National forest and you’re here. There are a couple of loops right as you enter, which are the most level places to park a rig. Then another path leads about a half a mile to a few other sites that are more secluded, but not very level. I wouldn’t recommend towing anything down there with the condition of the dirt road and low hanging tree branches. Those would be ideal for a camper van or tent. There is a lovely creek that runs along there. The dump/water is decommissioned at this site, but as you turn in there is dump/water at the forest station. During our stay there were a couple of RV’s and some off road fanatics. Quiet and cool summer evenings. Great cell service! 

Small, but mighty

A truly scenic spot where I saw that people were able to pull up an RV. I tent camped tucked into the forest a bit. The birch was dripping sap all night and I think I would have put my tent in the open if I had known. Some nice little fire pits. Don’t miss the turn into the camp circle, you’ll drive yourself up the mountain which is not very car friendly. Lastly there were swarms of mosquitoes who were out with vengeance, I managed to keep them at bay with few bites but don’t come Ill prepared to deal with skeeters

Lovely location with secluded spots. The stars and view were awesome and the wind blew just right all night.

Good spot . Road was very iffy for my 2wd sedan, but I made it. Perfect on the way in or out of medicine bow.

Secluded and quiet 

I have stayed here twice and both times were great. The site is easy to get to (just about a 1/2 a mile down the road), but some of the campsites are definitely better than others. Some of them are set off to the side and are well shaded with fire rings. However, there is additional room to park around the area it is just not as nice. The first time I stayed here I was the only one and the second time I was one of four people. Both times the area remained quite though.
