Description
Bear Lodge Trail winds through the ponderosa-pine highlands of Black Hills National Forest's Wyoming reach, offering a string of dispersed pullouts for boondockers willing to explore. Access is best suited to 4x4s and pickups — the road is rough enough that low-clearance and larger rigs are at a disadvantage. Some pullouts have fire rings; cell signal ranges from dead zones to LTE depending on exactly where you land.
