The campground sits roughly 100 feet from the falls, and a short walk brings campers down to the water. Day visitors stop by to see the waterfall, but most pass through quickly and leave the area to overnight campers. Site options are limited, so flexibility with tent placement helps. Timber wolves have been heard in the distance at night and early morning, an experience that surprised at least a couple of reviewers, though good camp hygiene kept encounters at a distance.
Bugs are a consistent theme across reviews. Glen B. sums it up plainly: "gorgeous, but insanely buggy." Mosquitoes can be heavy depending on the season, so repellent is worth packing regardless of when you visit. Rain amplifies the sound of the falls, which drowns out ambient noise from the surrounding forest. Pets and alcohol are permitted, and campfires are allowed.
Nearby, Weber Lake County Park and Upson Community Park provide alternatives if the dispersed setup at Foster Falls doesn't suit your group. If the falls and the forest do appeal, come prepared for insects and bring everything you need.

Foster Falls (access via Sullivan Fire Lane, Saxon) – 1 campsite, privy (no ATV access)
Rustic campsites (no water or electricity) have been established at Foster Falls (1 site). Camping is allowed at these sites or set up camp anywhere in the County Forest for up to two weeks at no charge. Everyone is always welcome to explore the entire forest on foot.
