Description
Near the summit of Spruce Knob — West Virginia's highest point — this roadside pullout in Monongahela National Forest sits above 4,300 feet amid high-elevation spruce forest, with views that open up to the ridge edge for those with adequate clearance to reach it. Two existing fire rings and ample deadfall make for a functional overnight stop, and the access road quiets down considerably after dark. Huckleberry Trail and Whispering Spruce Trail are both within walking distance of camp.
