Buffalo Gap Retreat

Closed For the Season

This campground is closed for the season from November 2, 2024 through April 14, 2025.

Buffalo Gap Retreat is located near the rolling hills of West Virginia, offering a landscape of forests and open spaces. The area experiences temperatures ranging from the 30s in winter to the 80s in summer. Nearby, visitors can explore the Cacapon Resort State Park and the historic town of Berkeley Springs.

Description

Nestled in the foothills of the Potomac Highlands just outside of the Shenandoah Valley, we are only a short 2 hours from Washington or Baltimore and a bit more from Pittsburg.

Buffalo Gap Retreat sits in the valley (gap) between two large mountains - Sandy Ridge and Slane's Knob.

As a result of being in the gap, our property is teaming with spring fed creeks and streams which form both our upper pond and sandy bottom lake.

Less than 10 minutes to the charming riverfront town of Capon Bridge and only 35 minutes to Winchester.

Buffalo Gap provides a retreat with forest, mountains, creeks, streams, waterfalls, ponds and nature in all its magnificence.
