Managed by Washington State Department of Fish & Wildlife, Upper Bobcat sits within the Methow Wildlife Area Complex and gives drive-in access to dispersed sites along the Chewuch River corridor. Sites are spacious with room between neighbors, and the river is close. Toilets and trash service are provided, and campfires and pets are both allowed. Reviewers note that bugs can be severe in summer, so insect protection is worth packing. Chewuch River Camping lies just to the south, and there are additional campgrounds around Winthrop for those building a longer itinerary. The campground tends to work best for families and solo travelers comfortable with dispersed-style stays.
