A roughly one-mile washboard dirt road with steep sections and switchbacks leads down to Stinson Flats, a drive-in campground managed by Washington State Department of Fish & Wildlife within the Klickitat Wildlife Area. The sites sit directly on the Klickitat River, and the rocky ground makes tent staking a challenge. Trailers are not well-suited here; Leidl South Campground handles rigs better. Toilets are on-site, firewood is available, and the campground stays open year-round. Yellow jackets have been noted in summer. Anglers and van or tent campers will find it most workable.
Description
A Discover Pass or Vehicle Access Pass is required to camp on Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife (WDFW) Lands.
