Lake Pleasant RV Park

General: 230-site RV park. Some sites are back-in, some pull-through. Some are lakefront. All are FHU. There is also one yurt.

Site Quality: Paved camper pad on level sites. Unlike most other RV parks, there is some foliage separating the sites, providing a modicum of privacy. We chose a lakefront site, but I think the pull-thru sites in the far rear of the park might have been a better choice (less geese traffic!). 

Bath/Shower: There is a large main bathroom with showers near the office. At the rear of the property, there are five bathrooms, each with a toilet, sink, and shower; one of these is ADA accessible. When we arrived late Saturday afternoon, two of these had no toilet paper, and one had no soap. I did see they were being attended to in the evening. Also, no hooks or shelves to put toiletries on. There was often water on the floor in these units, I’m guessing from the showers. The main bathrooms at the front are MUCH nicer, but about a third of a mile walk from the rear sites. 

Activities/Amenities: Catch and release fishing. A couple of miles of hiking trails around the perimeter of the campground. These are paved, gravel, or grass, and hilly! The road around the campground is just about a mile and flat, so it was good to run laps if that is your thing (good for me!). Amenities include: a playground, laundry ($2 each for washer and dryer), recycling, a library (I was happy to pick up a book on my to-read list), a dog run, and propane. The lake is nice, but there is a lot of algae, and swimming is not allowed. There are about two dozen geese that roam freely around, leaving goose poop wherever they go! I did see someone watering down the goose by-product on Monday morning, so the staff does work to mitigate this situation. Also ducks, birds, and even bunnies and snails. 

As far as RV parks go, this is one of the nicer ones we have stayed at (and less expensive than some). It is convenient to the Seattle area. It is well-tended to; there are flower baskets throughout the property. One star deducted for the bathrooms at the rear of the property.

First, the good points: the location is convenient to the northern Seattle area; the RV park surrounds a lake and is heavily wooded, very pretty, with hiking trails and a dog run; the park is surprisingly quiet considering how much traffic there is in the area; and it is close to a Safeway store.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this park due to its bad points: very expensive (overpriced) at more than $80 per night in their low season; the geese are really noisy and poop EVERYWHERE; the spaces are so narrow that you are practically on top of your neighbors, and you almost can’t put your slides out if you have slides on both sides of your RV; the sites are actually paved incorrectly, very un-level, off by 2 inches and more; the roads are so narrow I don’t know how any of the people in back-in spots managed to get backed in without damage to their vehicles; the park management is extremely inflexible on check-out or check-in. We had to rush out and left at 11:57am. They are the first rv park we have stayed at in over five years that does not take packages. Could not get my medical supplies I need for my health while we were there. Also, you cannot cancel unless you pay fees. We will not stay here again.

The name suits nicely for this RV Park in Bothell, WA. We stayed here for almost a month while visiting family in North Seattle. The grounds are quiet... truly silent... save for the many geese that call the lake in the center of the property their home. I mention the geese because they were the only disruptive part of our stay. Their squawks often woke us early in the morning or at random times throughout the night. We found it a rather amusing & charming feature, though if you’re a light sleeper, you may want ear plugs... we are their guests, not the other way around!

Wildlife aside, the park is laid out nicely, almost all spots are skirting the few small lakes/ponds on the property. Some spots are tighter than others and we watched a couple people spend some time backing in their rigs. We had a pull through and, while it wasn’t a huge amount of space, the trees between spots offered a really nice level of privacy.

The roadways are easy to navigate and lots of folks walk around the park roads. Many tenants are monthly, if not longer, and they seem to have an overflow area for folks waiting for a spot to open up. Around the perimeter of the park are short hiking trails through the trees — somewhat steep gravel trails that give you an added level of workout over laps around the park. If you’re looking for some extra miles, the walk/run to the Samammish River trail and/or Burke Gilman trail is less than 2 miles down the road (some sidewalk along the way) or you can drive and park near the trail entrance at Bothell Landing.

The park is across the street from a Safeway which was very convenient. Also very close to some excellent restaurants in Bothell. They offer propane for sale on site and their laundry room is very well kept and only $1 each for the washer and dryer! They also have a small visitor information center stocked with area brochures on tourist spots and tours.

I found the grounds to be nicely maintained, and staff to be very friendly. We will certainly come back for all future visits to our family. Thanks for the Pleasant stay!
