Water views and tree-lined sites define the layout at La Conner RV, a Thousand Trails facility on the Swinomish Channel in northwestern Washington. Sites vary considerably: some face the bay, while others are set back among trees with no water sightline. Sewer hookups are limited and assigned on a first-come basis, so RVers who need full hookups should arrive early or plan to be flexible. The campground accommodates rigs up to 46 feet with electric, water, and sewer connections where available.

Cell service is inconsistent on-site, and Wi-Fi is only accessible at the recreation building, not at individual sites. Reviewers note that a portion of sites appear to be occupied long-term, which affects the overall atmosphere in certain areas of the campground. On-site amenities include a hot tub, mini golf, and a store that stocks forgotten supplies. Skagit Island Marine State Park Campground and Hope Island Marine State Park - Skagit County are both reachable by boat for campers who want to explore the surrounding waterways.

As Paula C. notes, the campground sits close to Anacortes and whale watching boat trips, making it a functional base for regional day trips. Those browsing places to camp around La Conner will find this location well-suited to RV travelers who prioritize water access and on-site conveniences over solitude or reliable connectivity.

Visitors often highlighted the scenic wooded and water view sites in a peaceful setting. Some feedback indicated challenges with limited sewer connections and Wi-Fi availability, though the on-site store received positive comments.

Nice resort

This is a Thousand Trails facility. Lots of spaces but not many with sewer. It’s first come and you pick a empty spot. If you can find one. Only a few have water views. I forgot a couple of things so was really happy the store was open. I saw the hot tub and mini golf. There was a large open grassy area to play . Everyone was pretty nice.

Nice setting - few sewer sites

This is my first time using a thousand trails membership so I didn’t know what to expect. The overall campground is nice with almost all of the sites being surrounded by trees or a view of the bay. But it was disappointing to find that the few sites that have a sewer connection were all taken and no way to know this in advance. The Wi-Fi they have is only at the recreation building so that amenity should not have been listed on their website. About 20% of the campsites were being occupied by people who seem to be living there year-round with questionable RVs and lots of junk around their site. This diminished the overall nice setting of the campground.

Nature camping in the woods and on the bay

A Thousand Trails facility. Not all services are available at each site. Wonderful setting with either woods or water views.

A quiet place to get away from it all.

Close to Anacortes and whale watching boat trips.

Cell reception is bad but there are businesses and the library in La Conner where cell reception is good.

Feels like a campground not a parking lot

We stayed in January in our RV! We’re able to get a spot with a water view and full power/water. Sewer sites are limited, no internet at the site and cell service is decent but not great. Only about 5 over the air TV channels.

Amenities are closed due to COVID, we’re looking forward to coming back in the summer and hopefully when amenities are open.

Last minute camp

I love thousand trails, we decided last minute to get out of the house and away for the weekend and spend some time outdoors. We didn’t spend a lot of time packing diligently for camping, but anything we forgot we didn’t notice. Thousand trails has everything that we may have left behind, very convenient to pick up from on-site store. There were plenty of outdoor activities to keep the dogs and kiddos entertained. Will definitely be going back soon before the weather gets cold.
