Quiet mornings and views toward the water at the bluff define the experience at Dungeness Recreation Area Clallam County Park, a Clallam County-operated campground outside Sequim that draws campers year-round. Sites are drive-in with some walk-in access, and the layout places tents and RVs close together, though several reviewers note the spacing still provides a reasonable sense of privacy. Water hookups are available for RVs, and the campground includes showers, fire pits, a self-service firewood shed, and a playground.
Pricing is worth noting before arrival. Non-residents of Clallam County pay around $45 per night for non-hookup sites, which puts this campground at the higher end of the county park range. The campground stays open all year, and off-season visits tend to be quieter, with fewer occupied sites nearby.
The main draw for many campers is access to the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge. Dungeness Recreation Area sits just to the north and connects to the trail network leading out along the spit. Andi M. notes that despite close site spacing, "we felt pretty secluded," and reviewers consistently mention clean restrooms and showers as a reliable feature. The bluff area at the edge of the park faces west over the water, making it worth visiting in the evening before settling in for the night.
