Sitting atop a ridge along NF-8410, part of the Washington Backcountry Discovery Route, this free dispersed site in Wenatchee National Forest faces Lake Chelan on one side and a forested mountain range on the other. The road is rough. 4x4 is recommended, though high-clearance AWD may manage the approach from the Chelan side. The site shows clear signs of regular use: a flat tent area, log stump seating, a stone fire pit, and a rustic camp toilet built into the nearby trees. Note that open fires are restricted most of the year in this forest. Campers exploring campgrounds near Wenatchee National Forest will find Windy Camp Campground about 1.8 miles to the north if you want a nearby alternative. Bring everything you need and plan for a self-sufficient stay.
