Description
In the shadow of Wild Horse Butte and the sweeping sandstone face of the San Rafael Reef, this sprawling BLM dispersed area sits just outside the boundary of Goblin Valley State Park — hoodoo country at its most open and uncrowded. Dozens of designated spots spread across a network of dirt roads, most furnished with a fire ring and picnic table, with front-row views of the mesas and rock formations that make this corner of the San Rafael Swell so distinctive. The access roads are unpaved and can turn soft or rutted in wet conditions, so high clearance is recommended, though the main corridor handles larger rigs when dry. No cell service reaches the area.
