Fishing enthusiasts will find direct water access at Rabbit Gulch Campground, which sits within Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation Reservoir. The campground accommodates RVs with full hookups and offers tent camping sites positioned close to the lake's edge. Utah State Parks manages the facility, providing drinking water, restrooms with showers, and a dump station for RVers.
Access requires navigating rough roads that can cause tire damage, as one camper discovered when getting a flat tire on the way in. The tent camping area features more basic facilities compared to the RV section, though flush toilets and showers remain available at the main campground area. Campers can explore nearby Indian Bay Campground or find additional campsites near Duchesne for alternative options in the region.
Description
Primitive campground with developed and undeveloped sites. The developed area, west end, has 27 campsites (see “publications” tab on main park page for the layout of the campground) with vault toilets, tables, fire rings, and some pavilions, that can be reserved.
Non reservable - In the undeveloped area, campers are allowed to camp where they desire and may or may not have a picnic table. Vault toilets are dispersed throughout the campground. There is an RV sewer dump provided at the entrance but it does not have running water.

By a vehicle having a camper or RV, that means it is a camping unit, not an extra vehicle.
All campsites and yurts are available for reservation on a four-month rolling basis. For example, on January 10 individual sites are available for reservation through May 10. You can book a maximum of 13 days beyond the last date of the reservation window. For more information please contact our Reservation Call Center at 800-322-3770 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (Mountain Time) Monday through Friday. The call center is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
All Reservations that extend beyond The Furthest Arrival Date Must Wait 21 Days Before Changes Can Be Made
