GSENM Road 500 Dispersed near Kodachrome Basin

Description

The canyon-rimmed plateau of Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument BLM land opens onto Road 500, a cluster of dispersed sites with sweeping valley and canyon views that stretch across the red-rock landscape toward Kodachrome Basin. The access road off Skutumpah Road is steep, washboard, and tight — best suited to high-clearance vans and smaller rigs; trailers are a poor fit given the grade and limited maneuvering room at the top. Sites sit along the clifftop rim, most of them unlevel, with at least one fire ring among the pullouts.
