Description
The canyon rim of the San Juan River gorge in southeastern Utah hosts this BLM dispersed area, positioned just outside the boundary of Goosenecks State Park, with unobstructed views down into the sweeping meanders of the river hundreds of feet below. A handful of cliff-edge pullouts stretch along the road past the Honaker Trail junction, each with established firepits and stone seating worn in by prior camps. Access via Johns Canyon Road (244) is rough, rocky, and unforgiving when wet — high clearance is strongly advised, and the steep, narrow sections make this a poor fit for large rigs.
