Freemont Road Dispersed Camp

A large gravel area with scattered gravel piles provides straightforward access just off Interstate 15. Campers can position their rigs behind the larger piles to reduce highway noise and wind exposure. The flat terrain accommodates big rigs without difficulty, and the smooth road access requires no four-wheel drive capability.

This Bureau of Land Management site operates as free dispersed camping on campsites around BLM Land — Cedar City Field Office. Multiple reviewers note the convenience for interstate travelers needing an overnight stop. The open layout typically remains uncrowded, though wind can be a factor in this exposed location. Freemont Wash Dispersed Camping sits less than half a mile southeast for campers preferring a different setting.

By I15 but noise is minimal

Elite dispersed camping, it is very convenient to the highway. But yet we parked behind a mound of gravel, and it helped block the noise and some of the view of the highway. It was very convenient from interstate 15. No rough roads. Very flat areas.

Gravel lots with gravel piles

This seems to be just a gravel parking lot with gravel piles in a very windy area right off the highway. Maybe I was in the wrong spot?

You can park behind large gravel piles to get out of some of the wind and damp in freeway noise. Decent enough spot for a free night of sleep, but wouldn’t be my choice if I were exploring more in the area.

Large gravel area

Large gravel area with piles of gravel easy access. I parked behind a large pile which deaden any I 15 noise. Quiet place to spend a night. Nobody else about.
