Alstrom Point

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Dispersed camping at Alstrom Point puts campers on an exposed ridge above Lake Powell, managed by the National Park Service as part of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. The access road is mostly manageable for small crossovers, but turns rocky near the end, where higher clearance helps. Rain changes everything. The clay surface becomes impassable when wet, so checking forecasts before heading out is essential. Wahweap Campground offers a more developed alternative about eight miles southwest.

Amazing views

Alstrom point is worth the drive, most of the trail can be done no problem in a small crossover. But there’s a point that gets really rocky and you’ll certainly want a taller vehicle. ( I’ve seen Subaru outbacks up here )

The road does turn into clay if it rains and it’s not drivable. be warned.
