Beautiful and quiet!

We stumbled upon this campground and we’re glad we did. It was quiet with the exception of the flowing creek which made perfect ambience. Moss covered everything as the sun tries to shine down through the trees. All the sites are nestled in with plenty of privacy and the bathrooms are well kept.

Beautiful!

Found this campground by accident. I’m so glad I did. All of the sites have a good view of the creek. It’s clean and quiet( except for the creek). I reserved site #1 which had a surprise covered area with picnic tables.

Secure your load!

This was our first time here, however our friends have been coming here for a long time. We brought in a 25” travel trailer. The road in is EXTREMELY bumpy, you have to drive really really slow, at least down the right side of the airstrip. We also had to back over some pretty large tree roots to get our trailer into the camp stop. Other than getting in our stay was very pleasant. We were adequately spaced out from other campers and there was a great 8.3 mile trail nearby. Plus it was also kinda cool seeing planes land and take off (only 2 in the two days we were there, and only during the day). I would definitely stay here again.

Way out there, loud river, bring bug spray!

This campground is easy to find but a long drive into the woods on a bumpy gravel road. I made it in a Camery but it was a bumpy ride. Closest store is 45 minutes away so make sure you bring everything you need including firewood. It gets pretty chilly as the campground is well shaded. The river is very loud so you really don't hear your neighbors. The bugs are terrible, I've never seen mosquitos that aggressive. Each site had a tent pad, picnic table, and fire ring. There are some spots closer together but plenty that are set apart enough that you have privacy. Beautiful campground. No cell reception. One group had kids who were older but we didn't see any other kids. Well taken care of vault toilets though there was no host when we were there. Four stars only because the bugs were so bad, everything else about it was perfect for what we were looking for.

Out of the way and amazing.

This campground is out of the way, just how I like it. Campsites 22-25 are right on the creek. If you don't mind freezing your ass off, you can swim.

Pick a spot on the Water

Buck Creek is one of the options at Baker Lake.

Not my first choice in this area but, its a good spot. Most of the sites are shady and back in the trees but they do have a couple water front sites.

You must make reservations at least 4 days in advance or else first come first serve in picking a site.

Frequently Asked Questions

What facilities and amenities are available at Buck Creek Campground?

Buck Creek Campground offers shaded campsites nestled among trees, with sites 22-25 positioned right on the creek. The campground features well-maintained bathrooms and some sites have covered areas with picnic tables. There are no stores nearby, so all supplies must be brought in. The natural creek provides ambiance and swimming opportunities (though the water is very cold). While basic, the campground offers privacy between sites and small trails for exploring the surrounding forest. Larger RVs (up to 25' travel trailers) can access the campground, but must navigate over some tree roots for parking.

Where is Buck Creek Campground located in Washington?

Buck Creek Campground is located in a remote, wooded area of Washington state. It's positioned along a creek that creates a peaceful natural soundtrack throughout the campground. The area is heavily forested with moss-covered surroundings and filtered sunlight through the dense tree canopy. While the exact location isn't specified, it's in a secluded forest setting that requires significant travel from any major towns or services.

How do I get to Buck Creek Campground?

Buck Creek Campground is accessed via a long, bumpy gravel road through the woods. The road is quite rough in places, requiring slow driving speeds, especially along the airstrip. Standard vehicles can make it, but drive cautiously - even a Camry has navigated the route successfully, though it was a bumpy journey. Prepare for a remote location with the nearest store about 45 minutes away, so bring all necessary supplies including firewood. The campground's gate may be closed during off-season periods, so check availability before traveling.

What do other campers say about Buck Creek Campground?

Campers appreciate Buck Creek Campground for its quiet, secluded atmosphere and the soothing sound of the flowing creek. Most sites offer good creek views, with particularly desirable waterfront spots available. The natural setting features moss-covered trees creating a mystical forest environment. Privacy between sites is frequently mentioned as a positive feature. The campground can get busy during peak seasons despite its remote location. While some enjoy the primitive feel, others note it lacks amenities found at more developed campgrounds. Most visitors highlight the pristine natural beauty and peaceful ambiance as the main attractions.
