This place is awesome!
From the previous review, I’m not sure if you can still camp here, but it’s a great place to visit regardless! There’s a beautiful, large lake with swimming and kayak, paddle board and canoe rentals. They also do stand-up paddle board yoga and ukulele lessons! There’s also a section that allows dogs to swim and run around off-leash. The staff are super friendly and helpful.

Camping
Camping is currently not available at Union Reservoir. In 2018, areas previously used for campsites were reconfigured to provide additional day use opportunities and additional parking during peak periods. In the future, design and construction of a modern campground with both tent and RV camping is planned. The campground is slated to have full hook ups, showers, flush toilets and a dump station. Quaint campground only open on weekends
We spent the night in one of the tent spaces. They have fire pits in every campsite. Had to buy firewood from the Walmart Super Center down the street. The tent spaces are next to a dirt road that gets some traffic. They're also right next to a large paved parking lot. So there's plenty of parking available!
The space was very clean but we were surprised to learn that camping is allowed only on Friday and Saturday nights. We reserved our space online same day, which is nice when all of the state parks require a 3 day advance notice! One quirk is that the campsite reservation did not include the $8 vehicle fee that we also had to pay at the gate...
The lake is beautiful and they have facilities to rent boats and clean catches. Pit toilets with lights are available all night with a 2min walk from our site.
