Great beach area, but camp sites pretty crowded.
There is a fabulous beach with a big swimming area. Also large mowed grassy areas between the beach and the campground. When the campground is full, you are quite close to your neighbors in typical state campground style. It was well maintained with multiple toilet-shower houses.
Great for family
Wonderful campground that is great for the family. Has a beautiful sand beach with a shallower swim area for younger kids. Also located within an hour of several different attractions for the family. Would definitely plan to visit again!
Nice Dog Beach
Great dog beach!
Beautiful Lake and Park
Large, level electric sites. Very large campground in general. Since we were there in September and mid week, it was quiet. Bath house clean, but a bit outdated. Nice beach and swimming area. Dog park and beach area for dogs. Large, grassy recreation area and nice playground. Park hosts on site with daily activities for campers. Town is nearby with restaurants, shopping, etc. Burt Lake is stunning. Bring your kayaks, boats, and fishing gear.
Huge Sites. Awesome Beach
Camp site was HUGE! I believe ours was like 40x65! Electric hookup. Pet friendly park and beach area.
Neighbors and other park goers wasn’t as friendly as I’ve experienced at other parks. Around 4/10 spoke or waved when we spoke and waved.
If you like the beach, you’ll easily get out in the water over 100 yards and still be safe (roughly 3feet or so). Bring your kayaks too.

Beautiful beach, clean lots
Easy to find. Lots were easy to back into. Lot sizes are huge! Nearly every lot down the hill (west loop) has a nice view of the lake.
Some lots are a little off to themselves in a corner, if you want more privacy or peace and quiet.
Burt lake
Love this campground. My family has went there every year for the last 8 years. The camp ground hosts are great. The beach is perfect. The lake is a great for fishing. Very quiet and well maintained
Good fall destination
We stayed here in the fall for a color tour. Nice and quiet then, only half the park was open. We ran out of propane and plenty of places in the area to get filled.
Great park
We love this park, been coming up here for the last 12 yrs., everyone is very friendly and beautiful sunsets, great fireworks on the 4th.
Good lake camping
Enjoyed the lake, plenty of beach
Nice state park
I stayed here several times and have enjoyed each time. Many nice people to hang out with. I grew up in the area. The lakes and rivers are full of fish and the hunting is great!!
Busy but great place
I've stayed here a few times. It's a very busy campground, but people tend to keep to themselves, so it's still relaxing.
Really fun, beautiful
This campground is really nice and really convenient! I am more partial to more rustic camping, but we always enjoy our time here!

State park
There is no water or sewer hook up. The lot lines are strange, they run on an angle. Bring extension cords for the electric service. Bathrooms need updating.
The lake is beautiful! If you have a boat, travel through the channel to Mullet Lake. Great location. Park store is nice, or grocery store is 1 mile away.
Horrible phone service...but, maybe that's a good thing ;)
very nice campground easy access for Boats to Launch sites are big
lower campsites by beach are in full sun some have trees blocking your view 2 and 3rd and 4th road are wooded
Decent for upper MI
Took our family of four for a long weekend of tent camping. We had scoped it out before, so we had a general idea what spot we wanted, and reserved it online. The spot (304) was nice and big, and we had plenty of room. The park just seems more suited to RVs instead of tents, as do most parks up here. The facilities were nice - super clean bathrooms, great beach for the kids, even a dog beach. (Dogs are supposed to remain on leash on the beach.) There wasn’t really much of a playground for the kids, so they rode their bikes a lot. It was better than some we have stayed at, but not the spot if you’re looking for a little more rustic/private. You will certainly have neighbors.

:)
Staff was helpful, neighbors were friendly, bathrooms were clean, and it's right on the lake! Very pet-friendly, very busy. Reserve in advance.
Burt lake
Good state park camp ground. Lots of people, lots of dogs. People don't pick up the dog crap though which is unfortunate. Have great paths, boat launch, and beaches. Have a dog beach too. Lots of boats in that area of the beach not paying attention.
Great Beach
We spent a week here with family and it was awesome. The beach was clean and the water felt amazing. The area we swam in was very shallow quite a ways into the lake. The showers and bathrooms are pretty close to the campsites. The only thing I can really say is the campsites are a lil too close together so it seems a lil cramped, but it was still quite enjoyable and i would definitely go back. For kayakers and canoers, the Sturgeon River is close.
Best campground in the area
Beautiful site, friendly staff, and well maintained. For the price, this is the best campground we have found in this area.
