Oak Thicket Park

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Swimming, fishing, and relaxing under tree cover are the primary draws at Oak Thicket Park on Fayette Lake in Fayetteville, Texas. Sites are well-spaced and shaded by trees, which cuts down on the crowded feel common at lakeside campgrounds. Families with young children have made repeat visits, suggesting the layout works for that group. Full hookups accommodate RVs up to 45 feet, and the dump station, showers, and drinking water round out the on-site infrastructure. Reservations are available, so booking ahead is advisable, especially for weekend visits. Anglers and those arriving by boat will find Back Roads RV Park nearby if overflow options are needed, and there are additional campgrounds near Fayetteville for groups that need more space.

Quiet little park

I’ve seen some bad reviews of this park and I can’t tell you why I understand there isn’t much to do here but swim fish and relax the sites are full of trees and not to close. Overall we enjoy this park with our 4 and 6 year old. This was our second 3 day visit. Worth the drive from Houston every time.
