Overview
Lake Murvaul Park & Marina is a county-operated campground on the shores of 3,800-acre Lake Murvaul in the Piney Woods of Deep East Texas, about ten miles southwest of Carthage in Panola County. The park is operated by Panola County Fresh Water Supply District #1 and is open year-round. It offers RV sites, tent camping, and cabin rentals, catering to families and fishing enthusiasts.
Facilities
The park has 75 shaded RV sites with full water, electric, and sewer hookups on 30/50-amp service; each site includes a picnic table and fire pit. A separate shaded tent area offers sites with water and electricity hookups, plus a primitive camping extension. Twelve newly remodeled cabins, a lodge, and a lakehouse with lake views are available, with linens and towels included. Restrooms are on-site. Paid Wi-Fi is available throughout the park (availability not guaranteed).
Recreation
The lake features a designated swimming area, three fishing piers, a fish cleaning house, and free boat launch ramps. Kayak and paddleboat rentals are available. Lake Murvaul is noted for largemouth bass, crappie, and channel catfish fishing. The marina sells meals, snacks, lures, and live bait (bait available seasonally).

The park sits within the Piney Woods of Deep East Texas on Murvaul Creek in the Sabine River basin in Panola County, approximately three miles south of Clayton.
