Bofecillos Primitive Campsites — Big Bend Ranch State Park

Mountains ring the campsite on all sides, and the road in earns its reputation. One recent visitor in a Tacoma reported a rough, rocky approach despite park website language suggesting otherwise, so low-clearance vehicles should plan carefully. Bofecillos sits as the first site along that entry route, making it a logical first or last stop on a longer loop through Big Bend Ranch State Park. At $12-$16 per night, the site includes electric, water, and sewer hookups, picnic tables, and shower access. Campers wanting a primitive alternative nearby can consider Calera Agua Adentro Primitive Campsites — Big Bend Ranch State Park, about 3 miles north.

The website says any car can get here. I barely made it in my tacoma. It is the first campsite coming in the long rocky road so it is good for a first or last stop. Mountains all around and lots of space if you can convince friends to come
