Great Weekend Spot

My family camped out here for memorial weekend. We ended up near the entrance with full hookups for our Trailer. The spot are decent didn’t mind the area we were at. My only thing is the area could be better maintained. Playground had weeds and tall grass growing within the play area. Trees around the spots could use a pruning. The lake beach area wasn’t open for swimming due to a Lifeguard shortage. Overall though we had a great time for our first outing in our trailer though. The area is quiet.

Bathroom

The stay has good, but the bathrooms in a pinch need to be redone. The site is family and single friendly. The other campers are very polite.

Great lake

This camp ground was great. We tent camped by the water in section 3 and had the whole site to our self. The lake was nice to canoe on and had a beautiful view of the sunset.

The bathrooms were to far to walk so we had to drive to them ever time and there were no showers so this was a negative.

If you stay on the water just plan for the wind it was blowing the whole time and really hard at some points. Also there is no shade by the water so bring a shade tent.

Last thing this is a open camp ground and we had several people late at night ride by and shine there lights in our tent.

A little outdated

All the pads are concrete and are for the most part level (2x6 under tires or less). Sites are pretty good size and come with a picnic table and overhead cover for it. Deer are everywhere. Has two dump stations on either side of the park. Lots of trees in the Deer Park area. Lots of full timers in the the limited full hook up sites. It’s quiet and pretty clean. Rates are very reasonable. Could use some updating. There is no WiFi and cell service is very limited.

Great spots on the hill

If you camp on the hill areas there is plenty of shade. But if you camp close to the water shade is sparse. Trees are planted but are not y’all enough to produce shade. But over all it’s a nice place. Fishing and swimming. Lots of military personnel on the weekends.

Lots to do

Very nice facilities, yes they are still fixing a lot of damaged sites because of flooding but most facilities, beaches and water slides are up and running. While not camping lots of festivals and events.

Fun but pretty overrun

It's very close and our family members enjoy to take the kids for a hike and camp for a short weekend. Our kids enjoy to watch the deers that come close in the evening. During summer break we appreciated the lifeguards
