Overview
Tellico Plains / Cherokee National Forest KOA Holiday is a privately owned, year-round campground located at 1301 Mecca Pike in Tellico Plains, Tennessee, operated by Chris and Julia Jones (MECCA CAMP RESORT LLC). Situated at the gateway to the Cherokee National Forest, the property serves as a basecamp for outdoor recreation in East Tennessee and is four miles from historic downtown Tellico Plains.
Facilities
The campground offers RV sites, tent sites, and furnished glamping tents. RV sites include 100-foot pull-through and 75-foot back-in options with 50/30/20-amp electric and water service; a septic pump-out service is included in the rate, and a dedicated dump station was added in 2025. Glamping tents include linens, air conditioning, fire rings, and patio furniture. On-site amenities include a swimming pool, playground, restrooms with hot showers, a camp store and snack bar, a Kamp K9 dog park, and a covered pavilion. Firewood is available for purchase and WiFi is offered throughout the property.
Recreation
Nearby activities include trout fishing on the Tellico River, kayaking and paddleboarding at Indian Boundary Lake, hiking and biking on area mountain trails, and scenic drives along the Cherohala Skyway and Tail of the Dragon. Campground-hosted activities have included bingo nights, outdoor movie nights, and rafting and kayaking excursions.
