Piney River  Resort

The I 40 Hideaway is located on Cuba Landing Road 1/8th mile off of the I 40 interstate. We are on 26 acres of Forested land with 21 RV sites, 10 Cabins, 1 3bd 2 bath Lodge and 20 tent camping sites. All RV sites have 30/50 amp power and water. Only 8 sites have sewer at this time but we have applied for the permit to make all the sites have sewer and we are expecting completion around Dec of 2020. We also have a fishing pond on the site that is catch and release only. It is stocked with catfish, bluegill, bass, carp. You can text or call our phone number with any questions you have.

## Overview

The relaxing yet activity-rich Lock A Campground has something to offer everyone from horseshoe pits to volleyball courts and hiking opportunities, plus a plethora of lake activities as well. 

Keep in mind, staff will hold a campsite until the check-out time (2:00 pm) on the day following the arrival date. However, if you're arrving late, we highly recommend you call the campground to notify the Park Attendant. If arrival does not occur before check-out time on the day following the arrival date, the reservation will be canceled. 

## Recreation

The temperate climate here allows for a lengthy recreation season including boating, swimming, canoeing and fishing.  
  
For hikers, the Cumberland River Bicentennial Trail is a rails-to-trails project, which runs 6.5 miles long and crosses Sycamore Creek on a historic abandoned railroad trestle. 

## Facilities

Both RV and tent sites have 50 amp electric hookups. Additional amenities include hot showers, a dump station, boat launch, playground, picnic shelter and swimming area.  
  
A beach and additional playgrounds are available in the adjacent Cheatham Dam Right Bank Recreation Area. 

## Natural Features

Lock A is on the north bank of the lake, just upstream from Cheatham Lock and Dam along the Cumberland River in north-central Tennessee. 

## Nearby Attractions

The Pardue Pond and Dyson Ditch Wildlife Refuges are on the other side of Cheatham lake. Both are excellent places for bird watching and exploring.

## Overview

The relaxing family friendly atmosphere at Harpeth River Campground will have campers wanting to return as often as possible. Harpeth River Bridge Campground is located about 10 miles northwest of Ashland City, TN and is a 30 minute drive to Nashville.

## Recreation

The temperate climate here allows for a lengthy recreation season, including boating, canoeing, and fishing. There is a large playground for the children and horseshoe pits for the adults. A large pavillion will be great for big family get togethers. 

## Facilities

Weather you plan on using a tent or an RV, all sites have water and 50-amp electric hookups. Additional amenities include hot showers, new boat ramp, large picnic shelter, playground, concreted sites and a dump station. 

## Natural Features

Harpeth River Bridge Campground is located on the right bank of the Harpeth River. The water wraps almost all the way around the campground so that every site can be considered a water site. Beautiful old trees litter the area and provide cool shade on even the hottest days. 

## Nearby Attractions

Nearby attractions include Cheatham Lake Wildlife Management Area, Doziers Dock, and Pardue Recreation Area. All the sights and sounds of Nashville, TN are just a 30 minute drive away.

STEWART STATE FOREST
This Forest is located in northwestern Tenn-essee, in south-central Stewart County. State Highway 49 was an old rail bed that connected iron furnaces, that now bisects the forest. It is south of the western boundary of the Cross Creek National Wildlife Refuge. The Forest was acquired from a larger tract of land that was the Leech Estate, it became State land in 1933 in lieu of taxes. In 1935 governor McAllister declared it a state forest. There also are many sites of historic or cultural interest on the forest, including hundreds of areas where charcoal was produced, an iron ore pit, and several old house sites and stills. There are also several small areas where prairie grasses have been established. The 101st Airborne Division of Fort Campbell Military Reservation utilizes the forest on a renewable permit basis for training purposes on a biannual basis. Hunting has been a traditional use of the forest. Other recreational activities on the forest include hiking and some mountain biking. A large proportion of the forest has received salvage cutting due to blow down of older age class stands in 1983, 1991, and 2000. Approximately 96% is in hardwoods and only about 3% is in pine. The dominant hardwood type is oak/hickory and is generally even aged (70-95 years) containing mostly mature to over-mature hardwood.
