Directions

From Memphis: Take I-40 to Exit 126, south on Hwy 69, 14 miles to Parson, TN. Travel east on Hwy 412 for 6 miles and cross the Tennessee River. Take a left on Hwy 438, travel 2.5 miles. The park entrance is on the left. From Nashville: Take I-40 West to Exit 143. Take a left on Hwy 13 South and go 19 miles to Linden. Turn right onto Hwy 412 and go 12 miles. Turn right on Hwy 438 and follow to the park entrance

Amazing Camping and Beautiful Views

We had the pleasure of camping here. We chose the more primitive sites along the water. 100% recommend! Right on the water and the whole campsite area is so far from any ambient light that the stars at night were AMAZING.

Weird Campground

The primitive campground on the river has some nice waterfront sites, but they don’t have a real boathouse. Only a couple of porta-potties. If I am paying for a campsite, running water to wash my hands would be nice. Expected of it was back country, but it’s not.

Small, shaded and quiet!

Overall: Small, shaded and quiet. Way off the beaten path near the Tennessee River. A drive to the nearby Lady’s Bluff Small Wild Area is worthwhile. 

Getting there: If you want to get away from the crowded I-40 Interstate and do not mind a 30 minute drive through the gently rolling hills…
