Foster Bay Dispersed — Cheyenne River WPA

Foster Bay sits at the end of Fosters Bay Road in central South Dakota's high-plains river country, where an old boat ramp and a handful of open spots overlook the broad Cheyenne River corridor with views of the surrounding hills. The gravel access road transitions to a passable two-track as you approach the end — expect a remote, exposed setting with little shade and wind that picks up off the open terrain. The reservoir that once defined this recreation area has been dry for years, so plan accordingly: no water on-site, and cell signal is thin at best.
