Ten miles of dirt road lead into this dispersed camping area within Buffalo Gap National Grassland, with the final mile noticeably rougher than the rest. The plateau sits above the Cheyenne River valley, giving campers open sightlines toward the river and the surrounding grassland below. No marked sites exist, and the area draws enough visitors that neighbors can be close. The interior roads down into the valley get dangerously slick when wet, so dry conditions matter if campers plan to drive to Indian Creek. AT&T signal is available on the plateau but drops off in the valley. Campers rockhounding in the area have turned up agates and petrified wood. Those exploring campgrounds near Wall will find this among the more remote options in the region. Avoid the valley road after rain, and carry enough water for a multi-night stay.
