Deschutes National Forest maintains Ten Mile Sno-Park as a dispersed camping area just outside the entrance to Newberry Volcanic National Monument, making it a functional base for visiting the monument. The site is essentially a large paved parking lot, originally built for winter snowmobilers and cross-country skiers. Amenities are minimal: a vault toilet, a warming hut at the lot's edge, and a fire ring. No water is available on-site. Cell coverage runs about two bars of 4G Verizon. Free to use, no permit required. Campers wanting more developed options can find campgrounds near La Pine or check out Deschutes National Forest East Lake Campground a few miles to the east.
