Whitman National Forest's Two Color Campground sits along a creek in eastern Oregon, free to use and open June through September. Sites are dispersed along the water, large, and well-maintained, with a clean vault toilet that includes a grab bar for accessibility. No cell service is reported for major carriers. The last stretch of road is gravel, roughly 15 to 18 miles, with washboards, potholes, and blind corners on a single lane with steep drop-offs. Weekdays stay quiet; weekends draw crowds. Campers bothered by gnats or insects should plan accordingly. Those exploring campgrounds around Whitman National Forest will find nearby options at Tamarack Campground, about 1.2 miles south. Two Color suits self-sufficient campers comfortable with rough road access and no connectivity.
