The Best Camping Near Tillamook, Oregon

We love going to Trask Park. It hasn't a nice river and it's safe for the kids to run around. Its out of town, yet close enough to go to the store. It's nice to disconnect from cell phones.

Good for keeping kids

Trask River Campground is 20 minutes away from Tillamook. There is not a lot of service around the area going to Tillamook so go straight to Tillamook town center and start your GPS for accurate directions (or until you get good service). You will have no service whatsoever up at the campground but that’s what camping is for, to enjoy your time outdoors! You might as well get all of your needs in town before you head up, Safeway in Tillamook has bundles of wood for $5.99, for two nights we used 4 bundles (they come with fire starter kits).

There is no showers or sinks but there is multiple “vault” toilets around the campground. For clean water there is multiple pumps around the campsite, bring your own soap.

Nice swing set and grassy areas for kids or pets to run around. If you’re lucky enough you will wake up to elk grazing in the grassy areas.

There is a main road in between the campgrounds since sites go from A-C. People fly up and down that road at 50+ MPH so watch your kids and pets.

Private and Peaceful 

Great campground in the middle of the forest.  Vault toilets and a little path down to the river on the side that has individual camps.  Our Pop-Up fit in nicely!  There is an area on the other side of the road for large group camping.  Firewood for sale.  Nice quiet place! Heading back for the 4th!

The water was cold yet summer had just started, This place was beautiful and nice as a weekend getaway.

The hosts are amazing!! Quiet campground and you get to listen to the river flowing all the time!! Great swimming holes!!

Quiet Campground 

We just stayed 2 nights with our 5 &amp; 3-yo’s and had a lovely time. Sites are currently available with a blocked space between them, which was great for distancing. The campground itself is fairly open but our site was at a dead end and was very quiet. Great river scampering to be had!

Great first stay w/young kids

The campground is split by the hwy. sites on each side. We preferred the “C” loop. It’s seems more secluded with more privacy. If you have a large group the “A” loop might be a better option. Just depends on your preference.  We had a great visit, outside of one campsite that had a overly intoxicated camper. It was quickly resolved and didn’t take too much away from the campground experience. Would definitely go back.
