Situated at the edge of the Eagle Cap Wilderness within Whitman National Forest, Moss Springs sits about 9 miles up an unpaved forest service road from Cove. The road is manageable despite being gravel. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings, and a dedicated livestock unloading area reflects the campground's primary role as a staging point for horse packers and hikers heading into the Minam Lodge or Little Minam River corridor. Expect foot traffic from day users and trail parties. No pets are permitted, and cell service is limited. The campground runs June through September, with a small market in Cove available for resupply before heading up.
