Accessible only by a long, bumpy road that ends at this walk-in campground, Boundary sits within Wallowa National Forest along a creek. The US Forest Service manages this first-come, first-served site with basic amenities including toilets and picnic tables. Campers report finding long-term occupants with trailers and non-running vehicles, plus dogs off leash throughout the area.

The creek provides hiking opportunities, and visitors bring horses down to the water. Cell service does not reach this remote location. For those planning trips in the region, camping near Lostine offers additional options with better road access. The campground works best for self-sufficient campers comfortable with primitive conditions and minimal oversight.

Very Secluded--Free Campground

This is a free First come First Serve National Forest Service campground and thus, there seem to be folks living here full time. Lots of trailers, cars that looked like they didn't run and dogs off leash.  It's down at the end of a long bumpy road and no cell service. There was also a large Class A parked that I didn't see anyone enter or leave. I didn't feel entirely safe, also not unsafe either.

The hike along the creek is nice. People bring their horses down here.
